The Kongma La Pass (5535m) is the highest pass of 3 high passes trip. It follows the popular route of Everest base camp trekking, after crossing the Kongma La pass. The beautiful views of the Island peak and Amphu Lapcha accompanies to pass the adventurous trail. The trail continues to the Gorakshep, Base Camp and Kalapatthar. It offers the an outstanding view of the Khumbu Glaciers, sunrise and sunset over the Everest Himalayan range. Retrace from Gorakshep, the trail leads to the Cho-La Pass. The Cho La pass is an Icy and a technical pass which finally crosses the Ngozumba glacier. The trail leads to the high Himalayan settlement of Gokyo Valley beside the Dudh Pokhari. The exploration of Gokyo-RI is wonderful to observe the frozen lakes- Thonak Tsho and Ngozuma Tsho. It also offers the excellent views of Mt. Everest and Makalu. The Renjo La Pass is another adventurous and excellent trail which offers the superb views of the Ama Dablam Himalayan range, Makalu and Rolwaling range. Then the trekking descends down to Lukla via the Himalayan settlement of Sherpas at thame and Namche bazzar.
Lukla is a gateway to the three passes trekking after a scenic Himalayan flight from Kathmandu. The trip follows the main trail to Everest Base Camp till Dingbuchhe, crossing the Kongma La pass, heads to Base Camp, Kala Patthar. Gokyo Valley, Gokyo RI, Lumde and Thame are the attractive places and local Sherpa’s settlements on the trail.
